A Stunning Underground Synagogue Design – Solving Two Major Challenges!

In this unique synagogue project, I faced two major challenges:

1️⃣ The synagogue is located two floors underground, with no natural daylight or windows.
2️⃣ The left wall is angled at 30 degrees, making it difficult to create a sense of symmetry and balance in the space.

To solve these issues, I carefully designed the layout to establish a clear center of focus—from the seating arrangement to the Aron Kodesh and ceiling structure.
I incorporated artificial windows to create the illusion of natural light, bringing warmth and openness to the underground space.
The ceiling design plays a crucial role in visually straightening the slanted wall, using layered elements and a central chandelier to enhance the grandeur of the synagogue.

The Aron Kodesh stands as an independent structure, adding depth and elegance, with intricate columns and illuminated details.

Every element was meticulously planned to ensure that worshippers feel uplifted and inspired—despite being located underground.
