הקרן נוסדה בסיון ה'תשפ"ד ביוזמת מנהיג הציבור החרדי מרן הגאון רבי דב לנדו ונגידים מארצות הברית, והיא עומדת בהכוונתו יחד עם מרן הגאון רבי משה הלל הירש, בעקבות פסיקת בג"ץ על שלילת תקציבים לישיבות בשל אי גיוסם לצה"ל. לטובת הקרן נערכו התרמות רבות ברחבי העולם ונאספו מעל מאה מיליון דולר.

The foundation was founded in Sivan 5774 at the initiative of the leader of the Haredi community, Rabbi Dov Lando, and governors from the United States, and is under his direction together with Rabbi Moshe Hillel Hirsch, following the High Court of Justice ruling denying budgets to yeshivas due to their failure to enlist in the IDF. Many donations were made to the foundation around the world and over a hundred million dollars were collected.
