Thirty-seven freighters and tankers have only one escort – the armed merchant cruiser HMS Jervis Bay, a former cargo and passenger liner. There’s still an hour to sunset when an unknown warship is spotted on the horizon, closing fast on the convoy. Captain Edward Stephen Fogarty Fegen faces an impossible task: use his civilian ship and obsolete weapons to protect the merchant ships from total destruction.
