In his stirring message, Rav Hirsch connected this idea to the words of Chazal about Moshe Rabbeinu, who merited receiving the Torah through an attitude of Kavod Shamayim — recognizing “I am not worthy of Divine revelation.” True Kavod Shamayim, he explained, is seen when bochurim live a life completely immersed in Torah. These words were said at a deeply emotional event, where dozens of yeshiva students who toiled in writing Torah novellae and summaries of sugyot as part of the “Torah Dilei” program, received their work printed and bound. “Fortunate is the one who arrives here with his learning in his hand.” Prominently present at the event was the eminent gaon, Rabbi Ben Zion Chadash shlit"a, one of the Roshei Yeshiva of Slabodka, who encouraged the students regarding the greatness of writing Torah and total immersion in learning.
