A song of yearning and hope sung at the Seder table. This song is said to be composed by the current Belzer Rebbe, Rabbi Yisochor Dov Rokeach. The text of this poem was written by Yannai, who lived in the late Byzantine period (5th-6th century). Translation: Draw near the day which is neither day nor night; Exalted One, proclaim that Yours are day and night; Set guards over Your city all day and night; Brighten as day the darkness of the night; Transliteration: Karev yom, Asher hu lo yom velo laila. Karev yom, Asher hu lo yom velo laila. Ram hoda, Ram hoda, Ki lekha hayom af lekha halaila. Shomrim hafked, hafked leirkha Kol hayom vekhol halaila. Shomrim hafked, hafked leirkha Kol hayom vekhol halaila. Tair, tair, tair, Tair keor yom kheshkhat laila.
